How Purposeful Miles Works

No sponsorship forms. No chasing pledges. You train and log your miles; where a partner company has pledged against them, those miles are counted and the pledge is settled to the charity it names.

Step-by-Step Guide

01

Create Your Free Account

Sign up and you have an account. There is no fee, no card and nothing to cancel.

02

Add Your Activities

Log a run, walk or ride by hand in a few seconds. Strava connection is built and in limited testing while our Strava Developer Program review is outstanding; no other app is integrated.

03

Log Miles That Count

Run, walk or cycle. Miles logged while a partner company's pledge is running are counted towards it.

04

Track Your Impact

Your dashboard shows the miles you have logged and what has actually been recorded against them — never a projection.

How Donations Are Calculated

Corporate Pledge

A partner company pledges an amount per mile for its people, for a set period, and may cap the total. That pledge is the source of the charitable funding — there is no membership fee and no pooled fund.

Counted Miles

Only counted miles accrue: an activity flagged for a suspicious speed, an outlier distance or a likely duplicate still counts towards your own progress, but is left out of the total a pledge pays against.

Activity Verification

Activities synced from a connected fitness app are provider-verified. Manual entries are accepted, checked against the same quality rules, and marked as manual.

Period Accrual and Settlement

At the end of a period we record what the pledge produced — miles counted, the pledged rate, any cap — as a contribution owed to the charity the pledge names. The company then settles it, and the payment reference is recorded against that row.

Transparency Reporting

No money passes through Purposeful Miles — a company settles its pledge to the charity directly and we record the amount, the miles and the payment reference. We will publish a public summary once there is a settled contribution to report.

How a Contribution Is Worked Out

Owed to the charityThe amount the pledge produced

There is no standard per-mile rate. Each partner company sets its own in its pledge, and a figure appears on this platform only where a pledge supplies it.
